Based on your history and a physical examination, your medical professional will decide if Biopuncure is suitable for you.The following conditions have shown favourable results using Biopuncture:
- Sports injuries e.g. Achilles tendonits
- Musculoskeletal disorders e.g. Joint pain,
- Inflammations e.g Sinusitis
- Allergies e.g. Eczema and hayfever
- Headaches e.g migraine and post whiplash

Biopuncture is not suitable for the following conditions:
Cancer, diabetes, heart attacks, AIDS, high blood pressure, fibromyalgia, varicose veins, Parkinsons, epilepsy and depression. Biopuncture cannot be used to reverse advanced structural changes within the body such as liver cirrhosis and emphysema.
What do you inject?
Biological medicines, mainly from plant sources, are used within Biopuncture. These micro doses include substances such as arnica, echinacea and chamomile and are chosen in accordance with the patient’s main complaint, as well as the desired outcome, such as lymphatic drainage.
Where do you inject?
Injections can be given locally directly over the pain zone, into active trigger points within muscles and referral zones such as upper abdominal area when treating gastritis. The depth of the injection varies according to the target tissue, such as directly under the skin, into muscles, tendons and ligaments.
Does it hurt?
The needles used in Biopuncture are very fine and the small quantities injected ensure that the injections are well tolerated with minimal discomfort.
What can I expect from a treatment session?
Your medical practitioner will take a full case history and perform all the relevant examinations to arrive at a proper diagnosis to ensure that your complaint can be treated with Biopuncture. The area of discomfort will be further examined in order to determine the correct site and depth of the injection. The injections themselves are quick to perform and the area may feel slightly numb after the treatment. There may be a slight aggravation of symptoms over the next few days or complete resolution of symptoms, all of which will be assessed thoroughly in subsequent follow up visits.
How many sessions do I need?
This will depend on the severity, chronicity and the affected tissue, and an individual protocol will be formulated for you based on these criteria. As a general rule, eight, weekly sessions are suggested to begin with. Resolution of your symptoms can occur before this time, but in the case of chronic degenerative disease more sessions may be required.
Are there any risks and side effects?
The efficacy and safety of biological medicines has been well established and due to the low doses used adverse side effects are rare. Any sensitivity to certain botanicals will be established prior to commencement of treatment and the choice of medicines used will be adjusted accordingly. All ampoules are manufactured under the strictest quality control regulations to ensure purity. Proper aseptic technique is utilised throughout the sessions and dangerous injection sites are avoided, therefore, there is a minimal risk of infections and complications.
Should I discontinue current medication when undergoing Biopuncture treatment?
Biopuncture is a complemenatry treatment therapy, and as a result can be safely used in conjunction with prescribed medication. The need for pain medication and anti-inflammatories may decrease as resolution of the complaint starts to occur.
